We may not be nobles, but we're still people...

Kiro sighed as he watched his Caer lizard circle outside. No one could know that Oiki was his. It wasn't acceptable for a simple servent to have such a creature. She crooned softly, looking over at her bond. She began to fly over to him, but Kiro waved her back.
"I'm sorry, love, but you can't come near me, yet," Kiro sighed, turning back to his work of collecting the dirty clothes from the rooms.
Kiro entered Maggie's room. Her Housemaid, Liz, smiled at him as grabbed Maggie's hampered and turned back out the room and to the main laudry basket. He dumped the hamper into the basket. As he turned to walk back to the room, he saw Minryi rush into there. He stood back a to watch what would go on. After a few minutes, he saw Minryi and Maggie exit the room. Kiro sighed as he walked back into the room. That's when he saw Liz sitting on Maggie's bed, crying her eyes out.
"Lizzy, what's wrong?" Kiro asked, settling next to her on the bed.
"All I did was work, but I was happy," Liz sighed. "Now, I'm going to work all the time, but I'm not going to be happy."
Kiro rubbed Liz on the back and sighed, "Lizzy, calm down. You're smart, and you're nice. You'll get out of here sooner or later."
Liz looked up at Kiro, her eyes red with the job of crying, "I sure hope it'll be soon. I don't think I could stand it if I had to go to one of Minyri's brats."
Kiro laughed as he kissed her on the forehead, "Lizzy, love, don't worry. I'm sure they will find a suitable place for you."

Kiro shook his head as he looked at the location posting for the servents, "That can't be right. She couldn't have put her in the stables. She's a housemaid, not a stablemaid."
The path between the House and the stables was long and dirty. Kiro hated going down in, but he had to see if it was really true. He heard Liz shriek and mumble under her breath. He cracked the door open and peaked in.
"Liz? You in here?" Kiro sighed.
"Yeah," Liz's voice called to him. "Unfortunatly."
Kiro entered the stable and looked around at the unkept area in which they wished her to stay, "Why did they put you all the way out here? You're a Housemaid, not a Stablemaid."
Liz nodded, "Yeah, I know, but this is what Minryi assigned so there isn't anything I can do about it."
"Minryi," Kiro growled. "I hate that woman. She doesn't understand anyone."
"Kiro, hush," Liz sighed as she sat down on her 'bed'. "There's nothing we can do about it. We're merely servents. We're not nobles like Maggie and her brother, Garrett."
"We may not be nobles," Kiro sighed, "but we're still people."

***

Kiro sighed as Oiki curled up on his shoulder. It was the middle of the night. That was the only time he could be with Oiki. Any other time, one of the nobles would steal her from him. Oiki crooned softly as she wrapped her tail around his neck.
"I know, love," Kiro sighed. "I hate it, too, but what are you going to do?"

***

"Liz was searched?" Kiro questioned Minryi.
"Yes, a dirty Dragoneer came and took her without even talking with me," Minryi sighed. "I don't even know what he would want with an urchen like her."
"That's it!" Kiro shouted. "I can't take this anymore. Oiki! We're leaving!"
"Oiki?" Minryi sighed as the emerald flit zoomed into the room and landed on Kiro's shoulder. "How did you get that rare creature? A servent doesn't deserve such a creature."
Oiki hissed at Minryi as she tighted her grip on Kiro's neck. Kiro stroked her back, trying his best to soothe her, but that didn't calm her when his nerves were on edge. Minryi glared at him.
"Get out, you ingreatful servent!" Minyri exclaimed. "GET OUT!!!"

***

Kiro stomped out of the House, Oiki hovering at his side. Suddenly, a large bronze landed next to the stables. The Dragoneer started to walk towards the House, but stopped when he saw Kiro.
"Excuse me, but do you happen to know someone by the name of Kiro?" The Dragoneer asked.
"I'm Kiro, why do you ask?" Kiro sighed as Oiki chirped.
"Because Liz sent me to get you," He sighed. "Come on. It seems as though you're leaving anyway."
Kiro stared at the Dragoneer. Liz had requested they return for him. But why? He hadn't even been glanced at by a dragon. Why would they come get him just because she asked?
"Well, boy, are you coming or not?" The Dragoneer sighed.
"All right, there's nothing left her for me anyway," Kiro sighed.

K'ro laughed as Leeroith did circles around his legs.
